The Associate Director for Statutory Financial Reporting and Global Finance Policies will play a pivotal role in redefining our financial landscape, driving both strategic oversight of global finance policies and spearheading a transformative project to enhance the efficiency and compliance of the statutory financial reporting process. This person will report into the Sr. Director, BPO Management and support the month end close process. They will also partner closely with the VP Finance and various members of the Finance senior leadership team to drive CFO organization and company initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Statutory Financial Reporting

  • Ownership of the statutory financial reporting process for EU legal entities (currently 28) in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations; ultimate responsibility to ensure all accounts are filed on time

  • Partner with team members working on statutory financial reporting to ensure completion is on track

  • Liaise with local country advisors and manage local statutory financial reporting audits

  • Responsible for a transformative project to enhance the statutory financial reporting process

    • Design and implement streamlined processes to optimize efficiency, accuracy and compliance

    • Collaborate closely with finance teams, external auditors and other stakeholders to gather insights, feedback and requirements

    • Explore partnerships and technological solutions to enhance the statutory financial reporting process to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure successful adoption of changes

    • Continuously improve process design focusing on simplification, standardisation, and quality improvement

    • Evaluate best practices with global peers and become a best practice sponsor within the organisation

Support of Record to Report (RTR) function through BPO

  • ​Jazz has outsourced some transactional accounting activities to a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team. This person will provide support to the retained organization for management of the BPO

  • Oversight of the global balance sheet reconciliation process ensuring all reconciliations are completed and all reconciling items are dispositioned in a timely manner

  • Review and post monthly journal entries

  • Assist the BPO in resolution of escalated general ledger and reporting matters

  • Manage the intercompany process and partner with the tax team to transform and automate our intercompany transfer pricing process

  • Ensure compliance through frequent monitoring and emphasis on accuracy and adherence to policies

Global Accounting Policy Owner

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of global accounting policies to ensure consistency and compliance across all regions

  • Work closely with Corporate Reporting team to ensure effective application of changes in international accounting standards (US GAAP & IFRS) and impact on the organization’s accounting policies

  • Provide accounting policy application guidance to Global Finance (FP&A) and other business partners as needed

    • Ensure compliance through frequent monitoring and emphasis on accuracy and adherence to policies, and procedures

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners (Global Finance (FP&A), Treasury, Legal, IS, HR, Compliance, Commercial) to resolve issues, identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive industry leading operational and reporting excellence

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and advisors

  • Streamline finance and accounting administrative processes to allow staff to perform effectively and efficiently

  • Ensure the application the Company’s finance policies and procedures and internal controls in accordance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Finance or Accounting, and/or professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) preferred

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a dynamic international organisation

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders; consultative and collaborative style that allows for influence without authority. Strong leadership skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and a demonstrated track record of working effectively with senior level executives and line level managers

  • Ability to clearly assess complex issues, communicate them in a clear and concise manner, and develop appropriate solutions in a timely manner

  • Technologically proficient, especially with Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications

  • Enthusiastic, positive professional attitude with integrity and reliability

  • Strategic individual who can see the "big picture" and be future thinking

  • Experience working in a global organization with knowledge of application of intercompany and transfer pricing structures

  • Experience partnering with outsourcing providers as advantage

  • Solid knowledge of US and IFRS GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting

  • Knowledge of the following systems an advantage: SAP S/4HANA, BPC, Oracle and Blackline​
