Reporting to the Director PRMA Germany the Senior Market Access Manager Neuroscience is responsible for the development, definition and implementation of in market action plans derived from the national market access strategy for obtaining and maintaining market access for the Neurology product portfolio. Developing and leading projects regionally, according to the country strategies/plans. Early engagement with payers and other relevant stakeholders is in scope of this function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Market Access excellence across Germany by aiming for the optimal pricing, reimbursement in collaboration with local cross-functional as well as EUR/INT teams.

  • Identifies appropriate key stakeholders and establishes relationships with key influencers and decision makers to facilitate and maintain optimal market access for marketed (and pipeline) products. 

  • Has a deep understanding of the country healthcare structure (German self-governing bodies in healthcare), payer and HCP environment (statutory health insurances and physician associations) in line with the portfolio with a deep expertise in the area of market access.

  • Contributes to shaping the healthcare environment and market access both at national and regional level.

  • Develops and leads Healthcare/HEOR & Reimbursement projects according to the country strategies/plans/needs.

  • Leads and implements the development of national/regional market access action plans in a cross-functional way with other internal departments involved (Key Account Excellence).

  • As an active member of the Brand team, obtains cross functional input and reaches alignment in market access strategy and action plans, embeds market access plans in brand planning process, provides support and insights in the brand strategy and operational plans & activities.

  • Is part of the local (in field) sales and medical teams to ensure local access, providing insights and solutions tailored to local plans to ensure all plans and activities are aligned to the business strategy. 

  • Supports, educates, and advises the KAM/MSL teams and the Brand Team on health economic, pharmacoeconomic and health policy topics to ensure quick introduction at national and regional level.

  • Develops tools, materials, and objection handlings to unblock funding / reimbursement issues for single patients or patient groups and training of and provides and training of commercial and medical function colleagues.

  • Identify and develop trust-based working relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Engage stakeholders on the value proposition and conduct effective meetings with key stakeholders.

  • Anticipate latest trends (national / international) influencing market access environment and business results.

  • Supports in shaping & influencing disease policies through identifying mutual interests with policy makers in cooperation with GAAP function.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Documented track-record in developing, delivering, and implementing local reimbursement and access strategies.

  • Ability to develop and implement brand-specific market access plans 

  • Effective, skilled, and persuasive communicator.

  • Experience in working cross-functionally; self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability as well as the ability to work in a cross-functional team.

  • Creative "out-of-the-box" thinker with experience in new innovative pricing/contracting.

  • Proficient in English, both oral and written communications

  • Excellent analytical skills, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

  • Solid understanding of commercial and medical functions and how these bests contribute to a successful patient access approach.


Educational Background:

  • Degree in health economics, pharmacy, medicine, life sciences, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

  • Extensive experience in market access, reimbursement, or a similar role, preferably in neurology (epilepsy).

  • In-depth knowledge of the German healthcare system and reimbursement processes in Germany.

  • Experienced in communications/stakeholder management/specialist sales with demonstrable political astuteness.

  • Track record of building effective relationships in Market Access environments.

  • Experience in negotiating with health insurance companies, health authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities.

  • Flexibility of thinking to facilitate working with many professional disciplines.

  • Pro-active self-direction self-starter with a high level of initiative and persistence/resilience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel regularly within Germany
