Position Overview
The main activity of the KAM is the constant medical stakeholders’ update within the assigned work area on the scientific and therapeutic contents of the drugs within the registered therapeutic indications.
The subject of scientific information extends to the safety profile of the drug. The purpose is to facilitate the correct use of drugs by all health professionals, as required by current legislation. Therefore, the KAM takes advantage of University studies knowledge, of specific training courses and of the continuous updating carried out by the Company, from the works and from the scientific publications on drugs and reference pathologies.
The activity is carried out through meetings with the stakeholders assigned to the KAMs in their work area, in the clinic, in the surgery and in the hospital environment with the frequency established and the contents of the messages prepared by the Company in its scientific information planning. During
the visit to the Health Professional, the KAM can deliver scientific information material (scientific works, medical journals, texts, illustrative material). She/He also visits pharmacies, including hospitals in the assigned work area and she/he updates pharmacists about the Company's products developments,
collecting information on the distribution of drugs and, in the hospital context, on tenders for the supply of medicines. According to local regulations and company procedures, the KAM participates to educational and/or scientific events organized by the Company for the best knowledge of the reference pathologies as well as to encourage the participation of the medical stakeholders.
The KAM will take full accountability for the preparation and execution of strong territory business & key account management plans as agreed with the management team through agreed processes and procedures that require close collaboration with all Jazz employees. This will require a hybrid approach: the KAM will need to be able to use virtual channel combined with face to face meetings to achieve goals. In carrying out her/his professional functions, the KAM has to refer to the provisions of the local laws and codes of conduct of the sector.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Provide scientific information service support to HCPs, according to law 219/2006 art. 122
- Develop a partnership and relationship with KEE’s and stakeholders by being an expert in the Jazz Pharmaceuticals Neuroscience products & relevant disease areas as well as local and national healthcare policy as appropriate
- Strategic/Critical thinking: Can dissect complex problems into component parts that can be addressed; solves problems by enabling a productive dialogue among stakeholders who can drive the outcomes
- Build customer networks that enable the rapid identification, diagnosis and treatment of patients
- Ability to identify and answer customer needs: Develop a partnership relationship with KEE’s and stakeholders by being an expert in the Jazz Pharmaceutical’s products & relevant disease areas as well as local and national healthcare policy as appropriate
- Demonstrate the ability and attitude to effectively use all the multi-channel platforms to effectively use all the multi-channel platforms to engage with both internal and external customers using the appropriate technology in a hybrid capacity
- Demonstrate the ability to ensure appointments both in person and using remote technologies in a compliant manner
- Remove local prescribing barriers by helping primary accounts with solutions to local service limitations
- Willingness and ability to assist with ad hoc business projects as defined and directed by the management team

- Account planning: Develop, implement, and review a cross-functional key account business plan for the territory that is aligned to the strategic brand plan and endorsed by the management team
- Execution against plan: Monitor and evaluate performance against business plan and deliver within agreed matrix of activity (effective account call coverage and frequency) and budget (appropriate use of promotional spend) as agreed with the management team
- Cross functional internal collaboration: Work with the broader cross functional team; including medical, market access, and marketing to meet the needs of physicians, other health care professionals and patients
- Cross functional external collaboration: Able to bring together different customer types externally to drive the uptake and access to the Jazz Pharmaceutical’s portfolio
- Profiling (and regular updating of) key customers and accounts into CRM system
- Accurate and timely reporting of customer and business records, through CRM system, using agreed performance measures
- Behave ethically, responsibly and professionally in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals values and codes of practice
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Laws, Codes, corporate standards and Procedures related to his/her area of relevance/responsibility, included the legislative decree 231/2001, the legislative decree 219/2006 and in requirements of the Jazz Pharmaceuticals Code of Conduct.
- Strictly observance and knowledge of Jazz Pharmacovigilance’s Policy.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous specialty/chronic disease pharmaceutical experience
- Previous knowledge and experience in Neuroscience area is an advantage
- Experience in working as part of a cross-functional team; self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability as well as the ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Proven ability to manage specialty pharmaceutical issues and opportunities within a complicated healthcare setting to deliver agreed and measurable objectives
- Effective and persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills
- Advanced account management skills that demonstrate business acumen and an innovative approach to projects & solutions that bring added value to Jazz Pharmaceuticals and other stakeholders
- Experience in working with appropriate partners on joint projects that deliver benefits to all stakeholders, in particular to patients
- Consistently honest and truthful, with motivations and actions based on values.
- Ability to learn new skills, sometimes in challenging conditions
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- Life Sciences Graduate or equivalent as provided in the applicable Law
- Fully valid driving license
Description of Physical Demands
- Responsibilities may require working outside of "normal" hours, in order to meet business demands
- The size of territory will necessitate appropriate management of travel requirements to ensure coverage of customers as directed by the management team
- Residence within the territory of own responsibility
- Remote and multi-channel engagement will require home office working for periods of time
- Hybrid capacity is defined as the appropriate use of the right methods to engage customers whether in person or virtually
- This could require changes to customer lists and geographical territory boundaries from time to time
