Being based in the North of Germany and reporting to the Associate Medical Director Neuroscience, the Medical Science Liaison for Neuroscience is responsible for the implementation of the local affiliates’ Medical Plan and tactics that support the successful commercialization of in-market and future Jazz Pharmaceutical Neurology products.
This is a field-based, non-promotional role. The incumbent is the field based medical and scientific expert for the therapy area. The main areas of responsibility include supporting evidence generation activities, facilitating the exchange of scientific information between the medical community and the company, building collaborative relationships with external experts, responding reactively to unsolicited requests for information from healthcare professionals and realize medical education activities.
The northern territory includes Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Niedersachsen.
Key Responsibilities
Provision of Medical Information
- Provides high quality, balanced and scientific medical information to both internal and external customers on request and in a timely manner
- Delivers best in class, scientific, educational meetings executed in accordance with Jazz and local regulatory and legal frameworks
- Provides scientific information to support appropriate positioning of Jazz Pharmaceuticals medicines within relevant national and local protocols, guidelines, and formularies to support appropriate access
- Communicates emerging data and the clinical experience with our products through scientific exchange and peer-to-peer interactions discussing benefits and risks in an objective manner.
Positions self as Scientific Expert
- Maintains an up to date and high-level knowledge of the therapy area and Jazz products
- Supports development of Jazz Pharmaceuticals positioning as the scientific authority on neuroscience
- Attend appropriate scientific congresses to stay abreast of developments and to support regional and national key external experts activities
- Provides medical guidance and governance for Jazz Pharmaceuticals neuroscience therapeutic areas
- Acquires a broad understanding of local and national protocols of clinical practice
- Gives medical-scientific presentations
- Provides medical training to Jazz Pharmaceuticals personnel
Evidence Generation & Research Support
- Supports the local implementation of Jazz Pharmaceuticals sponsored studies and projects
- Responds to requests for Investigator Initiated Research grants in accordance with Jazz standard operating procedures
- Supports the submission and review of Investigator Initiated Research proposals
- Ensures support of the life cycle management of all neuroscience products
Develop External Relationships
- Develops influential relationships with national and local key external experts, leading to a productive two-way exchange of scientific information and opinion
- Supports national Key External Experts (KEE) advocacy through provision of scientific and clinical information
- Develops and maintains a national and regional database of key strategic contacts for each relevant product and disease area
Strategic collaboration & Key Account Planning
- Contributes to the development of country medical plan and provides input into local strategies and tactics
- Works in a collaborative manner with cross-functional colleagues to ensure a Key Account Management approach
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including KAM, Marketing and Market Access, to ensure aligned and integrated customer engagement.
- Provide scientific support to Key Account Management by contributing medical expertise to the development and execution of tailored customer strategies.
- Monitor and analyse scientific and clinical trends within key accounts to identify opportunities and potential risks.
- Participate in cross-functional account meetings to align on goals, share insights, and coordinate activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations in all medical-scientific interactions related to key accounts.

- Prepare timely reporting according to the company needs
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Prior experience in neurological conditions (preferred epilepsy or rare disease)
- Highly self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
- Has a can-do attitude (Growth Mindset), feels accountable and acts proactively
- Enjoys setting ambitious goals, driving results and being innovative (in line with compliance rules)
- Communicate clearly, challenge constructively, and collaborate effectively across functions. Ability to critically analyse complex data
- Clear and concise communication and presentation skills
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Excellent inter-personal and relationship building skills, collaboration, and teamwork
Education & Requirements
- Scientific Graduate in life sciences (Masters/Diploma or higher)
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel 70%-80%,
- Very good command of German and English language both spoken and written
