The Medical Excellence Director's key responsibilities would be to:

  • Lead the development and execution of the respective therapeutic area (neuroscience) field Medical strategy and tactics

  • Lead, support and coach a high-performing fully integrated field Medical team in respective therapeutic area (neuroscience) focusing on performance management, professional development and succession planning

  • Ensure effective delivery of a compelling scientific narrative and insights-probing engagement strategy within respective therapeutic area (neuroscience) to successfully uncover barriers, build advocacy and enable practice change

  • Partner cross-functionally to develop and deliver institutional engagement plans within respective therapeutic area (neuroscience) to improve integration of transformative therapies in clinical practice

  • Translate field medical insights within respective therapeutic area (neuroscience) into actionable national strategies and tactics

  • Partner with Country Medical Head to build best-in-class Medical Affairs capabilities across affiliate medical team (neuroscience & oncology) to effectively deliver medical strategy with accountability for meaningful impact and outcome measures to accelerate access and transform care

  • Develop an innovative and impactful Medical Education strategy across prioritized Core Brands (Epidiolex) and New Products (oncology) and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver strategy to expand scientific knowledge and deepen HCP understanding of therapeutic options for optimal patient management

  • Co-lead the omnichannel engagement strategy with cross-functional partners to embed digital engagement solutions within field Medical Affairs

  • Manage the field Medical Affairs budget

Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate or Medical degree is preferred (PhD, MD)

  • Substantial relevant experience & knowledge of the biotech/pharma industry

  • Preferred therapeutic area background and experience in neuroscience and/or oncology

  • Proven track record in medical affairs leadership, management & coaching

  • Ability to build strong relationships with external experts and other relevant stakeholders

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and translate strategies into actionable medical tactics with excellence in execution

  • Ability to develop and deliver timely dashboards to communicate progress toward goals and deliverables

  • Ability to travel (25-40%) to coach field Medical in engaging externally with HCPs/stakeholders

  • Good understanding of the Canadian healthcare system and reimbursement / payer environment

  • Agile, innovative and solution-oriented mindset with high sense of urgency to adapt, manage ambiguity, organize, prioritize and work effectively as a unified cross-functional team to overcome challenges

  • Fluency in both French and English languages

This position would be best suited to candidates located in Quebec or Ontario, given the field-based time commitments involved.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals Canada, Inc. and Celator Pharmaceuticals Corp. are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.

For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $176,000.00 - $264,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz/Celator, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
