Brief Description:

The Senior Facilities Engineer will support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all utilities and facilities and equipment. The role involves ensuring strong engineering principles are applied in the development and execution of project plans and roadmap generation for the site utilities and facilities. The Senior Facilities Engineer will work closely with the Operations, Quality, MSAT and maintenance teams to optimize workflows, reduce downtime, and maintain product quality. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with relevant teams at other jazz facilities will be a key requirement for this role.

​​The role will also play a key part in development of production, maintenance, and routines to support the facility ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, while ensuring alignment with cross site engineering approaches.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring a safe place of work, safe systems of work, provision of information, training, and supervision as appropriate to ensure the safety, health and welfare of employees in accordance with the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policy, provision of adequate resources and promoting a culture of excellence and compliance with regard to occupational health and safety in the workplace.

  • Ensure high standards of compliance and adherence to safety processes and systems in relation to work preparation, execution and control of internal and vendor teams supporting facilities related activities. Lead an efficient janitorial and landscaping program to optimise lifespan of building fabric, its amenities, fixtures and fittings and its environs and ensure all areas are presentable and to an acceptable standard. Deliver an effective and responsive pest control service. Oversee the availability of janitorial consumables & stationery

  • Lead the site Facilities sustainability strategy obtaining buy-in from senior management including site energy initiatives in addition to ongoing monitoring of utilities consumption and non-hazardous waste monitoring and reporting. Ensure alignment with the Internal Manufacturing EHSS and Engineering roadmaps and project plans.

  • Lead the development of Facility Management KPI’s and maintain tracking tools to monitor department performance.

  • Lead key infrastructure projects for the site in line with global engineering standards

  • Provide engineering leadership in supporting the facility by taking part in vendor visits, factory acceptance tests, commissioning, and re-qualification of any changes to the facility or equipment.

  • Deliver an efficient planned preventative and reactive maintenance program to optimize lifespan of company assets (Building Fabric internal / external and landscape), sustain equipment uptime & availability (Mechanical, Electrical, Life Safety Systems, Security Systems, and Utilities) to ensure 100% compliance with statutory & security obligations. Ensure high standards of compliance and adherence to safety processes and systems in relation to work preparation, execution and control of internal and vendor teams supporting facilities related activities.

  • Lead the development of maintenance routines to ensure all site equipment is maintained according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Lead engineering support with equipment qualifications, validations, and change controls.

  • Ensuring compliance with GMP, SOPs, and health and safety guidelines.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead the development of long-term facilities and utilities plans, including management of end-of-life equipment.

  • Lead the development of the annual facilities budget and maintain compliance with budget allocation and financial management in line with site metrics.

  • Report to and be directed by the Senior Manager Engineering.

  • Provide mentoring and training to new hires.

  • Lead the review of all site drawings and ensure they are up to date, approved and an accurate reflection of the as-built situation. Implement a comprehensive drawing management system.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A number of years' experience which suitably demonstrates the required skill for the position.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Must be PC literate, with emphasis on the Microsoft suite.

  • AutoCAD 2D and/or Revit 3D experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience will be highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to achieve objectives

  • Highly flexible, works well in a team environment, and has necessary skills to organize, communicate, influence and lead.

  • Demonstrated capability in establishing collaborative working relationships at all levels, regardless of seniority.

  • Possess fundamental scientific thought processes and demonstrated ability to apply this to overcome problems.

  • Recognize areas for improvement and use initiative to implement change programs in support of progress.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to deliver objectives on time, every time, while meeting all compliance and cost targets.

  • Through leading by example, cultivate and nurture culture of collaboration and participation among the team.

  • Foster a culture of change, innovation and self- improvement to maximise achievement of overall site goals.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • BSE Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Additional project management qualification will be highly regarded.
