As the affiliate ABPI/IPHA Code Operations Manager you will be a highly motivated and detail-orientated, team player, reporting to the Country Medical Director and interacting frequently with colleagues across the affiliate. This role is pivotal in embedding Code compliant processes and knowledge-sharing across the affiliate, ensuring that our daily operations align with the Code(s), to deliver high quality interactions for our external stakeholders, in our evolving environment.
The successful candidate will act as a key operational lead for Code operations governance, training, and updates, supporting the affiliate in maintaining the highest standards of ethical and compliant promotional and non-promotional activity. You will set high standards in your own conduct and knowledge, upholding Jazz values and ensuring your role responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals Policies and procedures, the regulatory and legal frameworks of the country, and ABPI, IPHA, BHBIA and EFPIA codes.
Essential Functions
Code Governance & Operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain local processes and guidance to support adherence to
the ABPI and IPHA Codes (this includes SOP writing and updating).
- Act as the affiliate subject matter expert on Code-related operational matters, providing practical guidance to cross-functional office and field teams.
- Monitor and communicate updates from the PMCPA/ABPI and IPHA, ensuring timely dissemination and implementation.
Training & Capability Building
- Support the design and delivery of Code training across the affiliate, tailored to functional needs.
Support onboarding of new staff with Code-related content and maintain records.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
-Through a deep understanding of Veeva PM, maintain best practice guidance for all roles working in Veeva PM system.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and demonstrate these as business enabling.
- Share Code case trends and learnings to inform risk mitigation strategies and improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Maintain knowledge of Jazz SOPs and initiatives above country that are relevant to ABPI/ IPHA Code standards.
- Collaborate with affiliate colleagues to continuously improve knowledge and Veeva PM workflow practices.
- Ensure regular communication with key stakeholders including with line manager, Signatories, Compliance BP, GMPRA, Veeva PM team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of the ABPI and/or IPHA Code of Practice.
- Substantial experience in an ABPI Code focused role within
the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency with Veeva PromoMats or similar content approval systems.
- Proven experience in delivering training content
- Experience of writing procedural documents
- Excellent communication skills, including professional presentation skills with ability to modify style and content appropriate to audience
- Fluent English speaker and writer
- Strong attention to detail and ability to translate guidance into practical application.
- High confidence and competence with IT tools for planning and collaborative hybrid working
- Proactive, organized and collaborative working style
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting both UK and Irish markets.
IPHA Code of Practice trained
Familiarity with recent PMCPA case rulings and their implications.
Recent experience as reviewer or approver of promotional material
Qualifications
Must hold either a clinical science, pharmacy or law degree or equivalent;
and be able to demonstrate the required knowledge and skills listed above.
This role is not expected to act as a Final Medical Signatory.
