The successful candidate will provide a range of scientific support to project teams as required, contribute scientific understanding to the project objectives and assist or lead with the planning, execution, and reporting of project related work.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Provides necessary expertise to support the bioanalytical function as the development portfolio grows.

  • Works closely with DMPK/Bioanalytical colleagues to establish robust internal support systems

  • Operates in accordance with the Jazz corporate values.

  • Maintains cGxP and Health &Safety knowledge applicable to the job.

  • Refers to relevant EHSS policies and procedures to understand the current EHSS responsibilities for the role.

  • Provides support to own team and understands priorities of others.

  • Builds productive internal relationships mainly within own area of work with some broader functional interaction.

  • Ensures that Good Practice is followed, and all areas are maintained to the appropriate standards.

  • Performs analytical testing to support pre-clinical development projects as required.

  • Performs analytical testing in accordance with company procedures to support research, development, and release of API, drug product and related substances; including GxP testing in accordance with Eudralex Volume 4, Chapter 2 if required.

  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of all relevant cGxP documents.

  • Contributes to authoring specifications, test methods and other analytical procedures as required. Supports analytical method transfers to other laboratories.

  • Promptly notifies management about OOS/OOT/OOE and takes part in investigation as per company procedures.

  • Demonstrates practical and theoretical understanding in a range of scientific skills and technologies.

  • Demonstrates competency on a range of complex laboratory skills and equipment.

  • Records all experimental outcomes in an appropriate format.

  • Maintains all working areas in clean and tidy state.

  • Ensures all applicable quality measures are met and adhered to.

  • Supports qualification and maintenance of the analytical facilities and equipment.

  • Takes part in validation activities as required.

  • Ensures training records are kept up to date in accordance with company procedures.

  • Takes part in scheduling, testing, and reporting for development stability programmes.

  • Supports management of reference standards and retained samples within the department (if required).

  • Coaches and mentors less experience colleagues as required.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Degree and/or relevant experience, or PhD in relevant field.
