The Senior Accountant, Statutory Financial Reporting will play a pivotal role in the preparation of statutory financial statements for our European operations and actively participate in various accounting projects to drive operational efficiencies. This position requires a strong background in financial reporting and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
Statutory Financial Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Balance Sheet Governance and BPO engagement in preparation for financial statements
Ensure financial statements are in accordance with company policies and procedures
Liaise with local country advisors to ensure accurate application of local GAAP
Liaise with Jazz Corporate Group Accounting team
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) to gather necessary information for financial reporting
Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors during the audit of statutory financial statements
Ensure timely and accurate provision of requested information to auditors
Maintain organized and thorough documentation supporting financial statements and accounting processes
Identify opportunities for process improvement in the preparation of financial statements and implement best practices
Accounting Projects
Proactively engage in accounting projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes
Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial reporting and accounting
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
Prior BPO management experience
Prior audit management experience
Continuous process improvement track record
Enthusiastic, positive professional attitude with integrity and reliability
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines
Able to analyze information and present it in a format that is easily understood by the audience
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure
Excellent written and verbal skills
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
Bachelor or master's degree in Finance or Accounting, and/or professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) preferred, with at least 7 years post-qualification experience
More than 3 years of experience with statutory financial statements
Knowledge of the following systems an advantage: SAP S/4HANA, Blackline, Oracle, Workiva
Solid knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and financial reporting. Knowledge of local EU GAAP an advantage
Data and Reporting expertise an advantage
Prior experience with European Statutory Reporting an advantage
Knowledge of XRBL tagging an advantage
